The income derived from your mortgage payments goes directly into the general Teacher’s Retirement Fund.
If you are an employee of a California public school district or community college and/or a member of the California State Teachers’ Retirement System you may be eligible for a CalSTRS home loan. You can obtain a great loan and have your money work for you.
IMPORTANT: Effective as of October 1, 2011 CalSTRS discontinued their 80/17 home loan program.
CalSTRS offers:
- Fixed mortgage loan amounts available up to $417,000*.
- 80/17 Program - Put only 3% down with an 80% first mortgage, and a deferred 17% second mortgage that has no payments due for 5 years. Max combined loan amounts up to $505,612. (Will be discontinued on October 1, 2011)
